Job summary

APTIM seeks an experienced Software Analyst to support our EMIS platform and client applications. The role blends software, AI, and data analysis to support environmental, health, safety, and sustainability projects.

The candidate will lead AI-driven initiatives, elicit requirements, develop workflows, and analyze EHS&S data using Power BI or Tableau. Responsibilities include deployment, training, testing, and documentation for client implementations.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in AI, software support, programming, EHS or EMIS role with strong software systems, data analysis and system management.
  • Experience with LLMs and AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude).
  • SQL data analysis and BI visualization (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience as software administrator or with APIs, databases and settings tables.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; able to translate complex tech to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AI-driven client projects and internal initiatives in the Digital Solutions group.
  • Elicit and document requirements from business stakeholders on systems and data needs.
  • Develop workflows and configure enterprise solutions by project requirements.
  • Utilize BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) to analyze EHS&S data and identify risks.
  • Support EMIS platforms (Enablon, Cority, Intelex, Velocity, Locus) and data integration.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for data-driven insights.
  • Assist with data migration, QA for client software implementations, and patches.
  • Create training materials for internal and client staff on system use and safety best practices.
  • Support user acceptance testing and issue debugging.
  • Document as-built system configuration management.

Job description

APTIM is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Software Analyst to support our environmental, health, safety, and sustainability (EHS&S) management information systems (EMIS) platform and client applications. This role requires a unique blend of technical, software, systems, AI, and strong data analysis capabilities to support software implementation projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The Technical Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert, combining system administration responsibilities with client-facing project execution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead AI driven projects including client projects and internal initiatives within the Digital Solutions group.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to elicit and document requirements from business stakeholders on systems and data needs.
  • Research, innovate and optimize business processes by identifying challenges and proposing project solutions.
  • Develop workflows and support configuration of enterprise solutions by project-specific requirements.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence (BI) tools including Power BI or Tableau to analyze EHS&S data, specifically focusing on evaluating and controlling workplace hazards and identifying emerging risks.
  • Support core EMIS platforms (e.g. Enablon, Cority, Intelex, Velocity, Locus) and integrate specialized data/metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that provide data-driven insights.
  • Support solution design, system configuration, data migration, and quality assurance for client software implementations.
  • Design and deliver training materials for both internal and client staff on system use and safe work practices.
  • Support client user acceptance testing, debugging, and delivery of patches.
  • Conduct software configuration migration from development and test platforms to production.
  • Documentation of as-built system configuration management.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited program.
  • Experience:A minimum of 8+ years of experience in AI, software support, programming, EHS or EMIS role, with a strong focus on software systems, programming, data analysis, and system management.
  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Experience with LLMs, ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude and other AI.
  • Experience as administrator of software or technical understanding of software administration, settings tables, APIs and databases.
  • Experience in data analysis with SQL, advanced Excel functionality, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.).
  • Prior web and mobile application development and testing experience.
  • Foundational Knowledge of Data Modeling: Understanding how to structure relational databases for environmental reporting.
  • Technical Writing or Documentation: Ability to translate complex technical processes into user manuals or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Additional Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in EHS&S software (e.g., Cority, Enablon, Intelex, Sphera, VelocityEHS, or other leading EHS platform).
  • Experience managing AWS, Google Cloud, Azure Cloud, or other cloud services is a plus.
  • Travel & Language:Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Knowledge & Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $95-120K per year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
