Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Digital Business Analyst to join the Adaptive Program Management Technologies (APgMT) team. The role focuses on delivering digital advisory services across PMIS, BIM, GIS, and analytics for large capital programs.

Remote, hybrid, or on-site work arrangements are available. You will partner with senior team members to translate business needs into technical solutions, engage stakeholders, and contribute to transformation initiatives across multiple functional areas.

Qualifications

• BS in CS, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
• 4+ years PMIS experience in capital improvement or project controls
• Experience with PMIS platforms such as Kahua, Trimble e-Builder, Procore, Oracle Primavera Unifier
• Knowledge of capital improvement program management and construction contract management
• MS Office including Visio and MS Project
• Travel up to 25% may be required

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies for clients
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to identify challenges, opportunities, and business needs related to program delivery
• Define and document as-is business processes, critical performance metrics, and program/project requirements
• Develop digital transformation roadmaps and change management strategies that align modern technologies with client objectives
• Evaluate existing business processes, systems, and technologies and define requirements for improvements
• Translate documented requirements into system configurations, software workflows, and reporting metrics
• Participate in discovery, design, testing, implementation, training, and rollout phases of software implementation
• Support solution design, configuration, and validation activities with APgMT resources
• Develop user guides, training materials, and acceptance test plans

If so, AECOM's Adaptive Program Management Technologies (APgMT) team may be the right place to grow your Digital Advisory career. We are seeking a Digital Business Analyst with a special blend of business and technical acumen to join the team. This position offers flexible work arrangements and may be performed remotely, hybrid, or on-site at any AECOM office.

The Digital BA will support our growing portfolio of digital advisory projects with our large capital improvement program clients. The Digital BA will work with senior APgMT team members to deliver transformative digital solutions across a wide array of functional areas, including Project Management Information Systems (PMIS), Asset Management, BIM, GIS, Communications, Finance, and more. Solutions may include commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, custom AECOM-built applications, or a combination of both. This position provides the opportunity to learn many areas of the business of delivering large capital programs and the processes and technologies that support them. Projects vary in complexity and constraints, providing an environment for career progression.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that may benefit our clients
• In collaboration with senior team members, work closely with client stakeholders to identify challenges, opportunities, and business needs related to program delivery
• Define and document as-is business processes, critical performance metrics, and program/project requirements
• Develop digital transformation roadmaps and change management strategies that align modern technologies with our client's business objectives
• Evaluate existing business processes, systems, and technologies supporting program delivery and define requirements for improvements
• Use critical thinking, data analytics, and business analysis techniques to examine existing business processes and to make recommendations for improvement
• Translate documented requirements into system configurations, software business process workflows and reporting metrics (workflows, business rules, data dictionaries, use cases, reports, dashboards, and related artifacts)
• Participate in the discovery, design, testing, implementation, training, and rollout phases of software implementation
• In collaboration with APgMT technical resources, support solution design, configuration, and validation activities to ensure business requirements are successfully implemented
• Develop supporting documentation (user guides, training materials, user acceptance test plans, etc)

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BS in CS, Engineering, Construction Management, other technical field or demonstrated equivalent experience or education
• 4+ years of experience supporting, implementing, administering, or analyzing Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) within capital improvement programs, construction programs, or project controls environments.
• Experience implementing, configuring, administering, or supporting commercial PMIS platforms such as Kahua, Trimble e-Builder, Procore, Oracle Primavera Unifier, or similar solutions.
• Proven knowledge of capital improvement program management and construction contract management
• Demonstrated experience using MS Office including Visio and MS Project
• Travel of up to 25% may be required based on project assignments, client needs, and business requirements

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with all levels of an organization including senior managers and executives
• Ability to facilitate requirements gathering sessions and accurately document business processes
• Ability to assimilate client needs and translate them into software business requirements
• Excellent organizational, time management and presentation skills
• Strong technical aptitude
• Ability to work alone as well as leading dynamic and collaborative team environments
• Demonstrated skills as a problem solver
• Familiarity with generative AI tools, workflow automation platforms, or advanced analytics technologies
• Practical experience in design/build construction delivery
• Knowledge of project management accounting and financial reporting
• Experience analyzing and writing business and system requirements documents
• Data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development
• Business Analysis Certification (CBPA, PMI-PBA, etc)
