Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering with seniority
  • 5+ years native mobile development — Android (Kotlin/Java) strongly preferred; iOS (Swift) a plus
  • 5+ years server-side/mobile backend tech (Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot)
  • 3+ years as tech lead or senior engineering lead, mentoring engineers and governing code quality
  • 3+ years OpenShift, public cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted tooling
  • Proven track record delivering complex mobile programs in financial services

Digital Software Engineer Lead Analyst, Android Development

Accountable for all phases of development process – analysis, design, construction, testing and implementation in agile development lifecycles. Collaborate with business partners to analyze user stories, ensuring they are clear, concise, and technically feasible. Translate user stories into solutions that provide an excellent client experience and align with Digital’s architectural roadmap. Prepare detailed technical designs that account for security, resiliency, scalability, maintainability, and performance. Thorough understanding of Code, test, debug, implement, and support complex financial applications. Collaborate with onshore/offshore resources, ensuring adherence to our processes and standards. Manage and mentor a team of engineers - driving engineering excellence. Ability to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment. Monitor projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing risks / issues, and taking corrective action as necessary to meet project deadlines.

  • Provide accurate and precise estimates for assigned task duration and work effort, along with confidence level, and foreseeable dependencies
  • Monitor projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing risks / issues, and taking corrective action as necessary to meet project deadlines
  • Understand the role of the engineering team within the SDLC and effectively advocate for the best possible customer experience of product quality within those parameters
  • Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
  • Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, with demonstrated technical seniority
  • 5+ years of hands-on native mobile development — Android (Kotlin/Java) strongly preferred; iOS (Swift) experience a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, or equivalent server-side/mobile backend technology
  • 3+ years of technical team lead or senior engineering lead experience, including mentoring engineers and governing code quality
  • 3+ years of experience in OpenShift, public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted development tooling
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale mobile programs in an enterprise or financial services context
  • Strong experience in systems analysis and architecture of mobile and distributed software applications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver successful projects under pressure, including managing deadlines and shifting requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of consulting, stakeholder management, and project management techniques
  • Ability to operate independently with limited direct supervision, and exercise sound judgement and autonomy
  • Experience in AI tools - Devin, Co-pilot for software development and Strong knowledge in applied AI for building software and products: LLMs and frontier-model APIs
  • Acts as subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and/or other team members
