Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices frameworks.
- Support the design and implementation of cloud-native applications and services.
- Participate in the development of event-driven solutions using messaging and integration technologies.
- Build and support API integrations between internal and external systems.
- Write secure, maintainable, and well‑tested code following established engineering standards.
- Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and Agile development ceremonies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with guidance from senior engineers when needed.
- Learn and apply modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevSecOps.
- Utilize AI‑powered developer tools to increase productivity, improve code quality, and accelerate learning.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver technology solutions that support business objectives.
- Continuously expand technical knowledge of cloud, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems technologies.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of software engineering or application development experience, including internships, co‑ops, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Basic understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud‑native development principles and exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Exposure to event‑driven architectures, messaging technologies, or asynchronous processing concepts.
- Experience developing, consuming, or supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
- Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and development tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift concepts is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to modern engineering initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience building applications with Java, Spring Boot, APIs, or cloud technologies.
- Exposure to Kafka, messaging platforms, or event‑streaming technologies.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks and software quality tools.
- Experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies to improve coding productivity and software quality.
- Interest in cloud engineering, platform modernization, microservices, and DevOps practices.
