Job summary

Merck & Co. in Rahway, NJ is seeking a senior Digital Quality Product Leader to own the vision and multi-year roadmap for Quality and Lab digital platforms, aligned with Animal Health Quality, Lab, and IT strategies.

You will define the product backlog, drive global rollout, ensure regulatory compliance and security, and lead cross-functional teams to maximize value from existing systems while exploring modernization opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality, Laboratory, Manufacturing, or GxP IT environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital product lines or large-scale platforms in regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of QMS, LIMS, SDLC, CSV/CSA, and inspection readiness.
  • Proven ability to lead global, cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Standardize and reuse digital quality and lab capabilities across sites and regions.
  • Lead design, implementation, and global rollout of Quality and Lab digital products.
  • Ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, compliant, secure, and resilient throughout their lifecycle.
  • Adhere to GxP, CSV/CSA, and CSA/OneCQV transitions.
  • Serve as the IT partner for Quality and Lab leadership, translating needs into capabilities.
  • Drive adoption via change management, training, and communities of practice.
  • Lead and develop product owners and delivery teams.
  • Scan for AI/ML, automation, and analytics to enhance quality decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Own the Digital Quality Product Line vision and multi-year roadmap, aligned to Animal Health Quality, Lab, and IT strategies.

  • Ensure adherence to GxP regulations, Computer System Validation (CSV), and the transition toward CSA / OneCQV-aligned approaches.
  • Act as the primary IT partner for Quality and Lab leadership, translating business needs into digital capabilities.
  • Drive adoption through change management, training strategies, and communities of practice.
  • Lead and develop product owners, solution leads, and delivery teams (internal and external).
  • Scan for emerging technologies (AI/ML, automation, analytics) that enhance quality decision-making and lab efficiency.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality, Laboratory, Manufacturing, or GxP IT environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital product lines or large-scale platforms in regulated industries.

Salary

The salary range for this role is

$142,400.00 - $224,100.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
