WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a full-time Digital Content Producer to create content for its website, mobile products and social media platforms. You must be an excellent storyteller who can edit and create content under constant deadline pressure, with breaking news and weather playing a major role in daily tasks.

The role reports to the Digital Content Manager and requires 1–3 years in a newsroom or web publishing setting, strong AP writing, and Photoshop experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a professional television newsroom or web publishing environment.
• Compelling news and editorial judgment.
• Excellent AP writing skills.
• Video editing experience.
• Experience with social media best practices.
• In-person attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Write/edit and publish breaking news and weather, daily news, sports and feature stories for our station website, and other social media platforms.
• Write compelling headlines; create mobile push notifications for breaking news/severe weather.
• Work with Reporters and Assignment Editors to ensure content is posted accurately and fast.
• Work with Producers, Assignment Editors and Managers to ensure cross promotion of content across all platforms.
• Develop multimedia special projects.
• Manage LIVE streams of newscasts and breaking news.
• Contribute ideas to help grow our station's digital platforms.
