Hearst Television’s WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh seeks a full-time Digital Content Producer to create content for website, mobile products, and social media. You will craft compelling stories under tight deadlines, focusing on breaking news and weather while reporting to the Digital Content Manager.

Responsibilities include writing, editing, publishing, crafting headlines, coordinating with reporters and editors, and developing multimedia projects for cross-platform distribution.

Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in a professional television newsroom or web-publishing environment.
Compelling news and editorial judgment.
Video editing experience.
Experience with social media best practices.
Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights and weekends).
In-person attendance is required.

Responsibilities

Write/edit and publish breaking news and weather, daily news, sports and feature stories for our station website and social platforms.
Write compelling headlines for mobile and social, and create mobile push notifications for breaking news/severe weather.
Work with Reporters and Assignment Editors to ensure content is posted accurately and fast.
Work with Producers, Assignment Editors and Managers to ensure cross promotion of content across platforms.
Develop multimedia special projects.
Manage LIVE streams of newscasts and breaking news.
Contribute ideas to grow our station's digital platforms.

WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a well-rounded full-time Digital Content Producerwho will create content for its website, mobile products and social media platforms. You must be an excellent storyteller who can edit and create content facing intense competition under constant deadline pressure. Breaking news and weather are huge in our area, and our digital producer must know how to maximize it all, while accomplishing their daily responsibilities. You will report to the Digital Content Manager.

Write/edit and publish breaking news and weather, daily news, sports and feature stories for our station website, and other social media platforms
Write compelling headlines; especially for mobile and social media and carefully create mobile push notifications for breaking news/severe weather

Requirements

1-3 years of experience in a professional television newsroom or web-publishing environment

Work well in an environment with frequent interruptions
Proficiency in Photoshop
Related military experience will be considered
