Job summary

ePac Flexible Packaging Australia is seeking a Press Operator for their new plant in Mesa, Arizona. The ideal candidate will efficiently operate and maintain an Indigo HP 20000 to exceed customer expectations in quality and uptime.

This position involves calibrating the press, performing maintenance, and ensuring cleanliness in the pressroom. Candidates with experience in manufacturing and flexible packaging will be prioritized, along with the ability to work safely around machinery.

Pay is between 21 - 26 USD per hour, with a dynamic and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• 1-3 years in production field related to digital printing a plus, but not required.
• Basic knowledge of flexible packaging films is a plus.

Responsibilities

Summary Of Position

The Press Operator efficiently operates, calibrates and maintains an Indigo HP 20000 to ensure excellent quality, machine uptime and that customer expectations are exceeded. Responsible for supplying printed rolls of film (PE, BOPP, PET and other polymer based substrates) to the lamination department. Responsible for machine upkeep, cleanliness and maintenance during break/fix with Lead Operator or HP Technical Support team’s assistance.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Regularly calibrates press via color calibration to ensure excellent print quality
• Efficiently sets up machine to maximize uptime
• Confirms job specifications based on job ticket prior to printing
• Performs daily and weekly maintenance on press
• Notifies Lead Press Operator when equipment needs repair or opens service calls
• Loads rolls of material onto press, and monitors print quality while machine is in production
• Keeps pressroom clean and organized

Non-essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Could be asked to support other parts of the operations including press assistant, pouching, slitting, and lamination
• Other duties as assigned by management and supervisors
• Participates in on-going training opportunities and supports a continuous quality improvement environment

• Must be flexible in work schedule. Willing to work overtime, based on business need

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is around, moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Requires certain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as hairnets, steel-toed shoes, and facility-specific uniform requirements
