Job summary

MCC Label is seeking a Digital Finisher to join our team in Provo, UT. This role focuses on setting up jobs, preflighting files, making color adjustments, and queuing tasks to ensure accurate digital label production.

You will operate the digital press, monitor quality, and minimize waste while maintaining efficiency. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating a digital press and/or 2+ years web/offset experience preferred; machine operation experience required.
• Computer prepress/preflight knowledge preferred; advanced computer skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs per ticket and product specs; preflight files, adjust color, stage, queue.
• Complete start-up and quality sign-off with specs and visual checks.
• Operate digital press to meet customer specs while minimizing waste and maintaining efficiency.
• Requisition supplies for digital press and labels, including inks, coatings, and parts.
• Maintain press equipment and perform preventative maintenance; coordinate with service professionals.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, safe work environment; report risks.

Responsibilities:

• Sets-up job in accordance with job ticket and product specification documents. This includes pre-flighting files, making color adjustments, staging and queuing.
• Completes job start-up, quality sign-off, including specification and visual checks.
• Operates digital press to produce product in conformance with customerspecifications while minimizing waste and maintaining press efficiency.
• Requisitions all supplies required to operate the digital press and produce quality digital labels, including inks, coatings, machine supplies, parts and tools.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Maintains and troubleshoots the press and related equipment.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance program; contracting with local HP
  • Service professionals as needed and completing Maintenance Request Forms for equipment needing repairs.
• Safety:
  • Follows all safety guidelines for proper material handling, machine, and tooling use.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Reports any safety risks to supervisor or safety team representative.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), required.
• Experience operating a digital press and/or minimum 2 years web and/or offset experience, preferred, Machine operation experience is required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties. Effective interpersonal skills needed.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
• Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards are necessary.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
• Computer prepress/preflight knowledge is preferred. Advanced computer skills needed.
• Able to frequently stand and walk.
• Must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
