Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking a Digital Press Operator with extensive experience to set up and operate an HP Digital printing press for pressure sensitive labels and related products. The role includes on-site training and opportunities to advance within a skilled trade in the printing industry.

Shifts are weekend graveyard, Friday through Sunday, 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM, full-time. Ideal candidates have 5+ years on a press, familiarity with films/paper, and a working knowledge of measurement tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related education/training is acceptable.
• Five years of experience operating a press in a printing environment, preferably a digital press.
• Five years experience running Films and Paper; re-insertion experience is a plus.
• HP Operator Level 1 Certification is preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret measurement devices and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality labels to meet job specifications and customer standards.
• Input data including time and materials used into job management software.
• Load jobs into press, fill ink cans and pumps with ink.
• Start press and adjust speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder.
• Adjust printing impression and inspect the approval strip for imperfections.
• Communicate job changes to supervisor to minimize downtime.
• Report production or press issues promptly to supervisor.
• Maintain inventory usage records and housekeeping standards.
• Perform routine daily, weekly and monthly maintenance.

We are currently recruiting for a Digital Press Operator / Preference with 200K experience to join our team! The Digital Press Operator sets up and operates the HP Digital printing press to produce pressure sensitive labels and related products. This position offers onsite training and the opportunity to learn a valuable skilled trade in the printing industry. LOCATION AND HOURS OF WORK

Typical hours for this position: Weekend Graveyard Shift, Friday through Sunday, 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM. This is a full-time position.

Responsiblities

• Produce high quality labels to meet the job specifications outlined on the label order to match customer standards
• Inputs data including time and materials used into job management software
• Reads job order and loads jobs into press, fills ink cans and pumps with prescribed inks
• Starts press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary
• Adjusts printing impression as necessary and runs down approval strip
• Cuts sample of approval strip from printed roll, inspects for imperfections and makes adjustments as necessary
• Communicates job specific information or changes to the supervisor in a timely manner to minimize production downtime
• Report any production or press issues to supervisor in a timely manner
• Keeps inventory usage accurate at all times
• Performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance as required
• Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Five years of previous experience operating a press in a printing environment, preferably a digital press
• Five years experience running Films and Paper
• Re-insertion experience a plus
• H.P. Operator Level 1 Certification.
• Previous 200K Experience is a PLUS!
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• May also participate in vendor sponsored training programs
• Wage Range: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour, DOE.
