Job summary

SeaChange is seeking a Digital Press Operator to operate and troubleshoot digital presses and finishing equipment, ensuring daily production and quality goals are met safely and efficiently.

You will work with variable and static data printing, PHI, and secure mail, handling RIP processes, color calibration, proofs, and routine maintenance with attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum two years in a similar Digital Press Operator role.
  • Experience with listed machines (Xerox Iridesse, Canon iX/ Titan, Konica Minolta AccurioPRESS, HP T250, Canon Oce Colorstream) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and troubleshoot digital presses and finishing equipment to meet daily goals.
  • Process RIP static/variable PDF files and set up runs per job tickets.
  • Review proofs and final samples before release to stakeholders.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure standards are met.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to maximize machine performance.
  • Record maintenance calls as required.
  • Maintain clean work area and monitor consumables.

Job description

Summary

The Digital Press Operator operates and troubleshoots Digital Presses and finishing equipment to meet daily production and quality goals safely and efficiently. The role works with variable and static data printing, PHI, and secure mail.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Raster Image Process (RIP) static/variable PDF files and set up press runs per the job ticket using Digital Press Front End (DFE).
  • Manipulate digital color calibration set-up to meet expectations for the color target.
  • Review all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment before releasing to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Perform standard quality checks and processes to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance following equipment specifications and machine operation knowledge.
  • Place and record maintenance and service calls as required.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain digital color and black-only imaging equipment.
  • Maintain and uphold a clean work area.
  • Monitor supply levels and assist with consumable orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong communication and writing skills to interpret production tickets.
  • Ability to read a ruler and measure printed products to match customer layouts.
  • Aptitude to work independently with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail for Quality Standard Inspections.
  • High degree of professionalism required to manage needs of internal and external clients.
  • Good mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot the set-up and maintenance of equipment, including in-depth knowledge of press capabilities.
Education and Experience
  • A High School diploma/GED along with the equivalent industry‑related experience and/or a minimum of two years in a similar role.
  • Preferred: 2 of Digital Press Operator experience required. (Examples of required machine experience: Xerox Iridesse, Canon iX, Canon Titan, Konica Minolta AccurioPRESS, HP T250, Canon Oce Colorstream).
Client-Sensitive Data and Responsibility

This position requires or may require access to “Client-Sensitive” data, PHI/ePHI access or authorization. Mandatory security training as well as background, drug screen, credit check will be implemented.

Physical Demands

Continuous periods of standing while running equipment (8‑12 hour shifts). Continuous movements: bending, twisting and reaching while running equipment. Continuous lifting of 1-25 lbs and regular lifting up to 25-50 lbs. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision to accurately distinguish color variation, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Description

$20 per hour plus shift differential
