Job summary

Piworld is seeking a Lead Digital Operator in the Dallas, TX area for the overnight shift. You will supervise a small team, operate and troubleshoot wide-format HP Latex printers, and manage finishing tasks with Colex systems.

Proficiency in RIP software and strong quality control are essential. This role demands attention to detail and the ability to maintain safety and efficiency in a busy print production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a production team in a print environment.

• Familiar with Colex cutters or equivalent finishing equipment.
• Working knowledge of RIP software (Caldera or ONYX).
• Leadership experience or ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities and supervise a team of 3–5 operators.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot wide-format printers (HP Latex and similar).
• Operate and configure finishing equipment, including Colex cutters.
• Identify and resolve print quality issues and equipment malfunctions.
• Manage print jobs using Caldera or ONYX RIP software.
• Train and mentor new operators on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Coordinate workflow to maintain productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and production instructions.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Prepare completed graphics and signs for shipment or delivery.

Lead Digital Operator

Location: Dallas, TX Area

Shift: 3rd Shift (Overnight)

Pay Rate: $24–$26 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily production activities while supervising a team of 3–5 operators.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot wide-format digital printers, including HP Latex and comparable systems.
• Operate and configure finishing equipment, including Colex cutting systems.
• Identify and resolve print quality issues, equipment malfunctions, and production challenges.
• Utilize RIP software such as Caldera or ONYX to prepare and manage print jobs.
• Train and mentor new operators on equipment operation, production procedures, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate departmental workflow to maintain productivity, quality standards, and on-time delivery.
• Read and interpret job tickets, production specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning, clear media jams, and complete preventive maintenance.
• Prepare completed graphics, roll banners, and rigid signs for shipment or courier pickup.
• Ensure accurate color matching, print registration, scaling, and measurements throughout production.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in large-format digital printing and production operations.
• Hands-on experience with HP Latex or other wide-format digital printers.
• Familiarity with Colex cutters or similar finishing equipment.
• Working knowledge of RIP software, preferably Caldera or ONYX.
• Previous leadership experience or the ability to train and guide production team members.
• Strong mathematical skills, including scaling, measurements, and print sizing.
