Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York is seeking a Digital Scanning Technician III to join our Digital Pathology Operations team. You will prepare pathology slides for digital scanning, verify patient identifiers against LIS, and perform pre- and post-scan quality control to ensure image accuracy.

You will operate scanners, troubleshoot image quality issues, support rush scanning requests, and document workflow activities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required with a Digital Pathology Certificate.
  • Experience entering data in a laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work accurately with LIS and digital imaging tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare slides for digital scanning, ensuring labeling, cleanliness and quality.
  • Verify patient identifiers and slide information against LIS.
  • Perform pre- and post-scan quality control reviews for image accuracy.
  • Operate, load and unload digital pathology scanners.
  • Troubleshoot scanning and image quality issues and escalate as needed.
  • Support rush scanning requests and maintain turnaround times.
  • Document quality issues, workflow activities and equipment concerns.
  • Assist with slide transport, case tracking, filing and daily operations.
