Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time digital-first journalist to manage PIX11.com and its social platforms. The role centers on producing two vertical videos daily, writing articles, and adapting stories for social media with a focus on integrity and reliability.

You will cover NYC and New Jersey, work morning/evening/weekend shifts, and contribute to fast, accurate news delivery. The candidate should excel in SEO, be proficient with WordPress and video tools, and deliver engaging

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of news reporting or writing experience in a digital space.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience gathering in a linear or broadcast space.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with digital producers, editors, reporters and TV producers.
Passion for news, digital presentation and commitment to fairness and accuracy.
Curiosity about new digital tools and storytelling approaches.

Responsibilities

Write multiple stories per day and shoot/edit two vertical videos daily.
Pivot to breaking news stories as needed.
Create vertical videos and write compelling social media copies for platforms like Facebook, TikTok, X, and Instagram.
Apply SEO best practices and write strong headlines; optimize website performance.
Clip and publish video segments from newscasts and assist with assignment desk tasks.
