Job summary

Ford is seeking a Digital Modeler to join its design team in Dearborn, MI. You will develop high‑fidelity interior and exterior digital models that capture design intent and support rapid iteration.

In this role you will collaborate with multiple departments, translate technical data, and apply surface development expertise to meet project timelines. A Bachelor's in Transportation or Industrial Design and at least one year of industry experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation or Industrial Design required.
• One year industry experience required.
• Proven ability to deliver finished 3D digital designs to specification using Alias, Rhino, Blender, Gravity Sketch, AI and other modeling tools.
• Knowledge of the Adobe Suite and standard office software like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with digital setups, values, and procedures for delivering surface data quickly and accurately.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation including prints, engineering sections, hip zones, hard points, draft angles, part breakups, die lock conditions, verification points.
• Strong problem-solving ability, ability to troubleshoot and meet critical timing schedules.

Must have at least 1 year of digital modeling in an automotive setting.

There will be a limited number of applications which will be accepted on first come / first serve basis.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Digital Modeler to join our fast-paced design team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-fidelity digital models (both interior and exterior) that accurately capture and display design intent. You'll play a key part in the digital modeling process, assisting with builds, determining the best tools and techniques for accurate execution within project timelines and constraints, and applying your deep understanding of surface development. This position requires strong collaboration skills, as you will translate technical data, interface with multiple departments and personnel, and build relationships across all levels of the design team to achieve our shared goals.
