Job description

Position Summary

This position supports PLM development, DMU integration, and digital engineering workflows for aircraft programs, including the Mobile NGSA and A220 platforms. The primary responsibility is executing technical data management, CAD dataset provisioning (Enovia, CATIA V5), light viewer conversions, and DMU quality assurance checks to ensure alignment with Airbus ways of working. Additionally, this role leverages programming and digital engineering tools (Python, Google Workspace scripts, and AI toolsets) to automate repetitive engineering processes, optimize data workflows, and support continuous tool integration.

Meet the team:

Our Engineers have the privilege of working on complex, highly engineered machines and are involved at all stages of the aircraft life cycle, from product development to manufacturing and direct support to our airline customers. If you’re interested in designing, creating, and testing the present and future of Airbus products across the globe, join our mission to connect the world.

Your working environment:

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

How we care for you:
  • Competitive base salary, incentive compensation which may include profit sharing schemes, retirement savings plan and the ability to participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan ("ESOP")
  • Paid time off including personal time, holidays and a generous paid parental leave program.

  • Assist in testing key capabilities across 3Dx SaaS, CAD Modeler Coexistence (CV5 PB + CV6), 3Dx Enovia Maturity on Release Process, and Multi-View Management (PBS).
  • Gather inputs and organize technical data required for High-Level Design Dossiers (HLDD) and G3/G4 gate preparations.
  • Extract native DMU design data on demand from source systems (Enovia, CATIA V5 R21).
  • Prepare and convert CAD datasets into JT, SPS, and CGR light viewer formats for platforms like Novo Desk and Laurentides.
  • Execute routine data transfer operations across manual and semi-automated workflows (utilizing PLMBI within the A220 Beluga enclave).
  • Perform quality checks comparing “New Method” vs. “Old DMU” data to identify gaps, coordinating with design teams to resolve structural or geometry inconsistencies.
  • Conduct completeness checks for the Configured DMU (cDMU) team (comparing Best-So-Far vs. cDMU vs. Native data).
  • Provide entry-level design and set‑up support for new aircraft variant environments, including the A220 Stretch (StepX) program.
  • Apply basic proficiency in Python to assist with automating repetitive design tasks, running dataset checks, generating reports, and parsing technical data.
  • Utilize Google Apps Scripts and Google Workspace features (Sheets, Docs, Drive) to streamline team workflows, consolidate project data, and support dashboard reporting.
