Job summary

NC State University Libraries is seeking a University Library Specialist to manage the Hill Library Digital Media Lab. The role includes supervising students, maintaining tools and spaces, and ensuring excellent user service for the campus community.

The position notes a hybrid work environment with substantial onsite activity, supporting audio, video, and graphic design workflows for NC State students, staff, and faculty.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in public/customer service is preferred.
• Ability to hire, train, and supervise student or temporary employees.
• Familiarity with digital media technologies including audio, video, and graphic design tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Digital Media Lab, ensuring a welcoming environment for all users.
• Recruit, supervise, and mentor student assistants with proper training.
• Provide expert guidance and hands-on demonstrations in digital media tools and workflows.
• Support campus events and activities through the Studios and Digital Media Lab.
• Develop and implement policies to improve user experience and accessibility.
