• Knowledge of podcasting, audio recording, video production, graphic design, and digital media platforms.
• Experience with media editing software and digital content creation tools.
• Must complete required DCF trainings in allotted time.
• CPR training within 90 days of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Digital Media Instructor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering engaging digital media, podcasting, and multimedia programming for Club members. The instructor creates a safe, creative, and technology-rich learning environment where youth develop technical, communication, critical thinking, and storytelling skills. Under the supervision of the Club Director, the Digital Media Instructor provides instruction in digital content creation, audio production, podcast development, video production, graphic design, and other emerging media technologies while fostering an inclusive, engaging learning environment.

COMPETENCIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

• Model the mission, vision, ICARE values, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay; and the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and program documentation as required.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for Club members.

Instruction and Skill Development

• Develop and facilitate age-appropriate digital media, podcasting, and multimedia programs for youth and teens.
• Provide instruction in areas such as podcast production, audio recording and editing, video creation, graphic design, digital storytelling, photography, social media literacy, and content development.
• Teach members how to safely and responsibly use technology, digital platforms, and media tools and ensure all media content complies with organizational policies, privacy standards, and youth protection guidelines.
• Design engaging project-based learning experiences that encourage creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Introduce members to career pathways and educational opportunities related to digital media, communications, and technology.
• Guide youth through all stages of podcast production, including concept development, scripting, interviewing, recording, editing, publishing, and promotion.
• Assist members in producing quality content that reflects Club values and promotes positive youth development.
• Encourage participation and recognize member achievements through showcases, presentations, and media projects.

• Excel in customer service to effectively communicate with Club members, staff, and visitors to include parents, volunteers, or other community members.
• Build positive relationships with youth members that support social, emotional, and developmental growth.
• Create an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, respect, and cultural appreciation.

Collaboration and Partnerships

• Assist staff members in the absence of others, work on some weekends and/or extended hours for special events and/or programs or support other Club locations within a reasonable geography.
• Maintains daily contact with Club Director, Club staff, members, and families.
• Demonstrates the ability to collaborate and effectively work within and across teams to accomplish our organizational goals in support of our Mission and each other.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must complete required DCF trainings in allotted time.
• Successfully complete organization sponsored CPR training within 90 days of hire.
• Additional training may be required for continuing education, etc.

Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas counties for training and professional development or other business purposes.
