Dakota County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Forensic Computer Examiner to join the Electronic Crimes Task Force at the Hastings location. This full-time role analyzes advanced forensic evidence, performs searches on digital media, and provides investigative guidance on computer-related evidence.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in digital forensics or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience or 6 years combined education/experience; preferred certifications and forensic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 2 years of experience working in forensic technology involving computer forensics, electronic discovery and technical investigations.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience to equal 6 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized computer forensics and electronic discovery on digital media including evidence preservation and analysis.
• Maintains chain of custody protocols and proper handling of evidence.
