Perennial Resources International seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead RF microwave and digital design efforts in Melville, NY. The role involves hands-on circuit development, testing, and coordination with designers and technicians onsite five days a week.

The ideal candidate holds a BSEE (or MSc) with several years of RF/digital experience, including FPGA/Verilog/VHDL, RTOS, and embedded hardware. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for project success.

Qualifications

• Requires BSEE/ MSc with relevant experience and 4+ years for BSEE or 2+ years for MSc.
• 3+ years RF microwave and/or digital engineering experience in design, development and analysis.
• Proficiency in RF and digital circuit design and testing.
• Familiar with modeling/simulation, amplifier design, FPGA with Verilog/VHDL.

Responsabilités

• Investigates specifications and project requirements.
• Performs RF and digital circuit design and analysis.
• Provides technical coordination to designers and staff.
• Directs engineering technicians during breadboarding, wiring, debugging and testing.
• Designs wiring layouts and schematics; plans tests and setups.
• Assesses device performance during tests and interprets results.
• Prepares spare parts lists, tools, and test equipment data.
• Specifies procurement of specialized components and test equipment.
• Assists in bid and proposal preparation.
• Uses CAE programs of moderate complexity.

THIS ROLE WILL BE ONSITE 5 DAYS PER WEEK IN MELVILLE, NY.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and conducts studies on specifications and requirements of the project.
• Performs original RF and Digital circuit design and analysis.
• Supplies technical assistance and coordination to designers and staff assigned to the project.
• Provides directions to the Engineering Technician and Associate Engineer while breadboarding, wiring, debugging and testing are being performed.
• Designs and plans, wiring layouts and schematics.
• Plans tests to be conducted and arranges the test setup.
• Checks performance of devices during tests and evaluates the results.
• Provides technical assistance in the preparation of spare parts lists, special tools, test equipment and other engineering data.
• Specifies the procurement of specialized components and test equipment.
• Assists in the preparation of bids and proposals.
• Uses PC-based Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) programs of moderate complexity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years prior experience or master’s degree and a minimum of 2 years prior experience.
• 3+ years of RF Microwave and/or Digital Engineering experience in design, development, analysis and investigation of electronic devices and systems required.
• Familiar with:
• Modeling and Simulating
• Optimizing new conceptual circuits along with evaluating, testing, tuning, and modifying circuits.
• Amplifier design using both packaged components and bare die
• Microprocessor programming languages: C, C++
• Real time operating systems (RTOS)
• Knowledge of hardware development as it pertains to embedded software
• Microprocessors from Microchip (PIC)
• Verilog or VHDL to describe digital circuits for FPGA design.
