Job summary

Rocketdyne is seeking a strategic Lead, Digital Engagement to own the external digital presence across Rocketdyne.com and corporate social channels. The role focuses on website and social strategy, publishing, analytics, and audience growth, with hands-on photography and videography.

Location preference is hybrid near our sites (Redmond, WA; Canoga Park, CA; Mason, OH; Jupiter, FL) with remote considered. Travel to sites will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, Film, Photography, or related field with 6+ years of digital experience.
  • Experience owning corporate websites/CMS and social channels with strategy, governance, audience engagement, and editorial planning.
  • Strong writing/editing skills to simplify complex or technical content for digital audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Rocketdyne's digital engagement across the company's web and social presence.
  • Manage the digital editorial calendar for enterprise priorities, events, and campaigns.
  • Write, edit, and publish web and social content; coordinate reviews and public-release approvals.
  • Track digital KPIs and analytics; report insights and optimize reach and engagement.
  • Plan, capture, and edit photo/video productions using Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
  • Travel to Rocketdyne sites as needed.

Job Description

Rocketdyne's Marketing & Communications team is looking for a strategic, creative, and hands‑on Lead, Digital Engagement to serve as the enterprise lead for Rocketdyne's external digital presence. This person will own channel strategy, standards, governance, and performance goals for Rocketdyne.com and corporate social media, and will shape how Rocketdyne connects with customers, partners, talent, media, and the broader space community through compelling digital and multimedia storytelling. The role is primarily focused on digital engagement - website and social media strategy, publishing, analytics, and audience growth - while retaining professional working proficiency in photography and videography to create distinctive, platform‑ready content.

Location preference for this role is for Hybrid work near a Rocketdyne site (Redmond, WA/Canoga Park, CA/Mason, OH/Jupiter, FL). Remote arrangement will also be considered.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as Rocketdyne's digital engagement lead, establishing channel strategy, standards, governance, and performance goals across the company's web and social presence.
  • Lead strategy and day‑to‑day management of Rocketdyne.com and corporate social media channels.
  • Manage the digital editorial calendar for enterprise priorities, events, and campaigns.
  • Write, edit, and publish web and social content; coordinate reviews and public‑release approvals.
  • Track digital KPIs and analytics; report insights and optimize reach, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Manage CMS updates, landing pages, SEO, accessibility, links, and content freshness.
  • Monitor social conversations; identify trends, opportunities, and issues for response or escalation.
  • Create platform‑native graphics, photography, short‑form video, and multimedia content optimized for each channel.
  • Provide professional photography and videography coverage for priority executive, product, facility, event, and media needs.
  • Plan, capture, and edit photo/video productions, including camera, lighting, audio, interviews, B‑roll, and post‑production using Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
  • Maintain digital asset standards for metadata, releases, storage, archiving, and reuse.
  • Partner across Communications, HR, Business Development, sites, and leadership on digital campaigns and content.
  • Manage digital and visual projects, budgets, vendors, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Travel to Rocketdyne sites as needed: Jupiter, Daytona Beach, Mason, Redmond, and Los Angeles.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, Film, Photography, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant digital communications experience - OR - 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience owning or leading corporate websites/CMS and social media channels, including channel strategy, publishing, governance, audience engagement, and editorial planning.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex or technical content for digital audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop digital content strategies and translate enterprise priorities into channel‑specific plans and campaigns.
  • Experience coordinating content with senior leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders in environments requiring disciplined review and approval.
  • Experience using web and social analytics to measure performance, understand audience behavior, and improve content and channel performance.
  • Professional working proficiency in photography and videography, including camera operation, lighting, audio, interviews, and post‑production.
  • Working proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro, or comparable professional photo and video editing tools.
  • Portfolio demonstrating digital campaigns or content and representative professional photography and videography work.
  • Strong project‑management skills with the ability to manage concurrent campaigns, vendors, schedules, and competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently and collaborate effectively across functions and locations.
  • Ability to work safely in manufacturing and test environments where PPE, production equipment, and work at heights may be required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SEO, website accessibility, CMS administration, and basic HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with social listening, community management, and escalation of emerging reputational or operational concerns.
  • Experience developing executive social media content.
  • Experience with motion graphics, Adobe After Effects, or lightweight graphic design for digital campaigns.
  • Experience supporting website redesigns, migrations, or vendor‑managed digital platforms.
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, or production partners and associated budgets.
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, editorial judgment, and enthusiasm for space exploration and national security space.
