Job summary

Knak Digital in Washington, DC is seeking a Digital Designer to translate research into engaging interfaces and responsive experiences. You’ll work with strategists from the outset, shaping concepts and collaborating on client pitches to deliver effective digital solutions.

You will build brand systems, present design decisions to clients, and mentor junior designers as the team grows. A portfolio with diverse styles and a mobile-first approach are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in UX/web design.
• Portfolio showing range of styles.
• Comfort designing for mobile and responsive web.
• Experience building brand systems.
• A second strength beyond web design (illustration, typography, motion, or front-end code).

Responsibilities

• Design responsive websites and digital experiences grounded in user research.
• Build and evolve visual brand systems, including logos and identity work.
• Present concepts directly to clients and defend your design decisions.
• Mentor junior designers as the team grows.
• Collaborate with writers and strategists on creative concepts, including new business pitches.

As Digital Designer, you'll help shape that research into actual concepts, working alongside strategists on client insights and turning them into interfaces people want to use. This isn't a production-only seat. You'll be in strategy conversations from the start.
