CAIR-SFBA in the San Francisco Bay Area is hiring a Communications Coordinator who will help amplify Muslim voices and perspectives across media and raise visibility of CAIR's work within the American Muslim community. The role focuses on day-to-day content creation, publishing, and execution across platforms to support CAIR-SFBA's communications strategy.

The position is based in CAIR's Santa Clara office with a hybrid schedule (three days in-person, two remote).

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, PR, digital media, or a related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience managing and writing copy for social media accounts.
• Strong proofreading and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Foundational design awareness and ability to create simple graphics in Canva.

Responsibilities

• Draft and publish website content and email newsletters highlighting CAIR-SFBA's services, events, advocacy, and impact.
• Manage CAIR-SFBA's social media accounts: create content, schedule posts, engage with the community.
• Create simple graphics in Canva for social media, email, and web content.
• Draft and format press releases, media advisories, and statements; support media distribution.
• Support rapid-response communications by drafting pre-approved messages during breaking news.
