Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Digital Applications Manager to lead our Applications support team in a hybrid Cary, NC setting. You will ensure the applications behind design and construction—Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Forma, and IMAGINiT Clarity—are reliable, well-supported, and continuously improving for project teams.

You will mentor staff, define workflows, manage vendor relationships, and drive adoption of standard digital delivery practices across offices.

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Digital Applications Manager to lead our Applications support team. This is a business-facing digital delivery role, not an IT position, which works closely with our design and construction staff, understand how they work day to day, and make sure the applications behind that work are reliable, well-supported, and continuously improving.

You will manage a team of application support specialists who provide functional support for the software our multidisciplinary design teams rely on, primarily Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Forma, and IMAGINiT Clarity, alongside the broader ecosystem of design and construction applications used across the business. Beyond day-to-day support, you will own the streamlining of digital delivery processes and the definition and documentation of standard workflows, helping the firm deliver projects more consistently and efficiently.

Responsibilities will include

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of application support specialists responsible for day-to-day support of design and construction applications used by project teams.
• Own functional support and administration for core design applications, primarily Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Forma, and IMAGINiT Clarity, as well as other applications used by architecture, engineering, and construction staff.
• Define, document, and continuously improve standard digital delivery workflows, procedures, and best practices across disciplines and offices.
• Identify opportunities to streamline how design applications are configured, deployed, and used, reducing friction and rework for project teams.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex application issues, coordinating with software vendors, IT infrastructure teams, and discipline leads as needed.
• Develop and maintain application standards, templates, content libraries, and configuration guidelines that support consistent, high-quality delivery.
• Partner with discipline and technology leads to evaluate, pilot, and roll out new tools and workflow improvements that benefit design and construction delivery.
• Manage vendor relationships for supported applications, including license management, support agreements, and roadmap alignment.
• Develop training materials and support onboarding for staff on supported applications and standard workflows.
• Track team performance, support metrics, and workflow adoption, reporting on impact and identifying areas for further improvement.
• Build and manage the team's workload, priorities, and staffing to align with organizational and project demands.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Design Technology, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience supporting design applications within a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, or design firm.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and BIM-based design workflows, Autodesk Forma and IMAGINiT Clarity is required.
• 5+ years of experience managing or leading a team, with the ability to mentor, prioritize workload, and develop staff.
• Proven ability to define, document, and roll out standardized processes and workflows across a distributed organization.
• Deep understanding of design and construction processes and how design workflows connect to downstream construction delivery.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers, technical staff, and leadership.
• Comfort operating in a role that bridges design practice and technology, without being a traditional IT/infrastructure position.
• Experience with additional design and construction applications (e.g., Civil 3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Inventor, or similar).
• Background in BIM management, digital delivery, or design technology leadership roles.
• Experience working across multiple offices, regions, or business units to standardize practices.
• Familiarity with process improvement or change management methodologies.

The base salary range for this position is $111,100.00 to $190,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
