Job summary

The University of Virginia seeks an Accessibility Coordinator to act as a hands-on resource for faculty, staff, and College units, focusing on digital accessibility in the initial phase. The role will grow to cover broader accessibility responsibilities across meetings, events, and platforms.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in accessibility standards, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision to address complex accessibility questions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of accessibility-related experience in higher education or related field.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508).

Responsibilities

• Provide accessibility consultation and guidance to faculty, staff, and units.
• Develop and maintain accessibility resources, including workshops and documentation.
• Evaluate accessibility questions and recommend practical compliance approaches.
• Support documentation, reporting, and compliance activities.
