Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Diffusion Process Engineer to join our on-site team. You will focus on establishing and maintaining world-class diffusion processes and implement yield enhancements as a competitive advantage.

This role requires solving complex problems and implementing effective solutions across cross-functional teams. You will monitor inline issues, qualify diffusion steps on advanced tools, coordinate downtime, and analyze data to drive processing decisions.

Qualifications

• BS degree required in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of semiconductor experience with knowledge of diffusion processes and equipment.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in the fab for 4 hours a day in a cleanroom setting.
• Able to sit and stand as needed, with light lifting requirements.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

In your role as a Diffusion Process Engineer, you’ll work alongside a talented team of professionals with a key focus on establishing and maintaining world class process and implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage along with ability to identify complex problems and implementing solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

• Monitor and respond to in-line issues in the wafer fabrication Diffusion process, ensuring timely disposition of wafers.
• Qualify Diffusion processes on advanced tools for wafer fabrication.
• Coordinate process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing and equipment teams.
• Analyze data using software tools to identify trends and inform processing decisions.
• Adjust process parameters as needed and monitor equipment performance after maintenance.
• Execute change point management on Diffusion processes / equipment.
• Continuously update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Develop device improvements with cross-departmental risk-mitigation and coordinated experiments.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

• BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
• 2+ years of semi-conductor experience highly desired with knowledge of Diffusion processes and equipment preferred.
• Flexibility to work in a 24/7 high volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in the fab for 4 hours a day in an office environment where a cleanroom gown is required.
• Ability to sit regularly while performing work duties; with the ability to frequently walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

Day Shifts Include:

A Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays

C Shift – Thursday through Saturday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays

Night Shifts Include:

B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays

D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
