Job summary

Memorial Hermann is actively hiring Registered Dietitians (RD, LD) for full-time and supplemental roles across multiple Texas locations. We seek patient-focused RDs with at least one year of clinical experience to join inpatient and outpatient nutrition teams.

Schedule typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with some weekend rotation. Eligible candidates must be RD, licensed in Texas, and committed to high-quality medical nutrition therapy.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food & Nutrition; Master’s required if registration was obtained after Jan 1, 2024.
• Licenses: Registered Dietitian (RD) and licensed with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). CPR certification.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical dietitian experience; inpatient and/or outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Establishes goals for nutrition care and develops individualized care plans with ongoing evaluation.
• Provides medical nutrition therapy tailored to age and condition.
• Modifies nutrition regimens based on food preferences, tolerances, and cultural/religious needs.
• Documents nutrition care plans in the medical record and tracks monitoring parameters.
• Provides nutrition education to patients and families considering age, beliefs and background.
• Ensures safe care and adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and budgeting constraints.
• Supports department goals, ongoing education, and acts as mentor to staff.
• Creates compassionate and personalized experiences for every patient and colleague.

We are seeking compassionate, patient-focused dietitians with at least one year of experience to join our inpatient and outpatient nutrition teams. Position responsible for providing high quality medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients. Areas of responsibility include assessment of nutritional needs, provision of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education. The incumbent is required to function on a multi-disciplinary team as a resource to the physician staff and others. May participate in community service by providing nutrition education to various groups or individuals outside the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications

• Must be registered with the ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
• CPR Certification (Heart Saver only) from either American Red Cross or American Heart Association or obtained within six (6) months of hire

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Completion of a qualified professional experience required for the registered dietitian exam administered by the ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Must have the ability to interact positively with many types of people
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Principal Accountabilities

• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Establishes goals for nutrition care of patients, conducts assessments, and develops individualized nutrition care plans with ongoing evaluation of nutrition status.
• Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients appropriate for their age.
• Modifies nutrition regimens according to food preferences, tolerances, and cultural and religious preferences.
• Documents nutrition care plans in the medical record, including nutrition assessment, monitoring parameters, goals and recommendations.
• Provides nutrition education to patients and/or families that is appropriate for age, religious beliefs, and cultural background.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staffs and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
