Job summary

Park Nicollet Health Services is seeking a Dietitian to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy through screening, assessment, and education. You will serve as a nutrition resource for patients, employees, and providers, collaborating with the Melrose Center team to improve care and experiences.

The role includes delivering education, leading group sessions, coordinating with nutrition and food services, and applying evidence-based protocols.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
• Completed an accredited internship, traineeship, CUP program or other acceptable route to ADA registration status.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) with ADA/ACEND credentialing.
• Licensed Dietitian in the state (MN).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet insurability criteria.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between nutrition, food services, patients and staff.
• Deliver patient education and care including materials, grocery store tours, cooking experiences, and use of interpreters.
• Use therapeutic counseling skills (e.g., DBT) for crisis management.
• Implement research-based protocols and procedures per treatment team guidance (e.g., FBT, ARFID, CBT-E).
• Facilitate educational programs, groups, and meal experiences.

Position Summary

The Dietitian provides Medical Nutrition Therapy through screening, assessment and education with monitoring and follow-up of recommendations. Patients may be seen in an individual or group setting. Serves as a professional nutrition resource for PNHS serving its patients, employees, community and providers.

Tasks And Responsibilities

• Liaison between the nutrition department, food services, patients and staff.
• Delivers patient education and care to best meet the identified needs of the patient including materials, resources, grocery store tours, cooking experiences, food exposures and use of interpreters.
• Uses therapeutic counseling skills such as DBT to be effective in addressing crisis management.
• Responsibility of a specialty RD to implement research-based protocols and procedures as identified by the treatment team as best practice including FBT, ARFID, CBT-E.

Education/Experience

Required Qualifications

• BA or BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
• Completed an accredited internship, traineeship, CUP program or other acceptable route to ADA registration status.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification

• Registered with the American Dietetic Association (RD).
• Licensed Dietitian
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle violation criteria.
• This position requires credentialing, following the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, and electronic medical record.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, discrimination, and harassment laws).
