Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Dietitian II to join our outpatient nutrition team. You will use motivational interviewing to support patients with obesity, bariatric needs, diabetes, and other chronic conditions, helping them make lasting lifestyle changes.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with one remote workday per week. You will mentor students and collaborate with a 21-member RD team in a program dedicated to education and career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with RD required by 1 Jan 2026 and 2 years clinical nutrition experience.
• Master's degree with RD required on or after 1 Jan 2026 and 1 year clinical nutrition experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition education and counseling based on patient needs.
• Document charges per outpatient billing guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Lead department initiatives and advocate evidence-based practice.
• Mentor dietetic students, interns and staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to improve nutrition care.
• Identify nutrition risk and develop Plan of Care.
• Perform Nutrition Focused Physical Assessments and diagnose malnutrition.
