Job summary

Assist the dietitian in planning and implementing the nutrition care plan, including patient visitation to assist with menu selection, obtain nutrition histories, and modify tray service as needed, while delivering customer service aligned with Corewell Health standards.

Collaborate with dietitians and food service staff, follow up on diet tolerance, maintain accurate records in the computer system, and support safety initiatives and quality improvements within the Medical Nutrition Therapy team

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English.
• Preferred High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in food service or related.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients to assist with menu selection and nutrition histories.
• Liaise with patients, dietitians, and food service to address meal needs.
• Follow up to ensure tolerance of diets and refer to dietitians when needed.
• Update and check computer files for accuracy.
• Use the computer system to communicate with food service and maintain records.
• Assist in modifying procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service per Corewell Health standards.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Provide excellent customer service as it relates to Corewell Health standards.

Essential Functions

• Patient visitation for assisting with menu selection, providing basic diet guidelines and obtaining diet history.


• Act as liaison with patient, dietitians and food service regarding patient needs and meal service related concerns.


• Provide follow up to determine if patients are tolerating diets and special needs are being met, making referrals to dietitians as needed.


• Checking and updating computer files to ensure accuracy and consistency.


• Utilize computer system to communicate with food service and maintain accurate records.


• Assist in modifying procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.


• Provide excellent customer service as it relates to Corewell Health.


• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English.

• Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent


• 1 year of relevant experience with food service or related.
