Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Dietitian to join our Verona, VA team, focusing on nutrition plans and post-discharge diet education. You will assess nutritional needs, develop and implement dietary plans, and monitor patient progress to promote recovery and well-being.

As part of the Encompass Health community, you will collaborate with physicians and care teams, document care plans, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• State licensure required.
• Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Food & Nutrition.
• One year of Clinical Dietetics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with and counsel patients per physician orders and diet instruction.
• Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines in patient care.
• Evaluate referral orders to determine adequacy of nutrition intake methods.
• Document pertinent information in the patient's medical record according to established standards.
• Implement nutritional care plans, adapt menus, and assist patients with special dietary needs.
• Conduct calorie counts and make appropriate recommendations.
• Review, revise, and sign off menus for nutritional adequacy.
