Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated Dietitian to promote health through personalized nutrition plans. You will assess patients, develop and adjust dietary plans, and educate patients about healthy eating and post-discharge diets.

You will document findings in patient records and collaborate with physicians to ensure nutritional adequacy. Qualified candidates will be registered dietitians with state licensure, and a nutrition degree is required; Academy membership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• State licensure is required to practice as a dietitian.
• Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop dietary plans.
• Instruct patients on post-discharge diets and monitor nutritional status.
• Document information in medical records per standards.
• Evaluate and modify menus for nutritional adequacy.
• Conduct calorie counts and provide recommendations.
• Review and sign menus for accuracy.

Become the Dietitian you always wanted to be

• Communicate with and counsel patients per physician orders and diet instruction.
• Communicate with physicians and other involved disciplines in patient care.
• Evaluate referral orders to determine adequacy of nutrition intake methods.
• Document pertinent information in the patient's medical record according to established standards.
• Implement nutritional care plans, adapt menus, and assist patients with special dietary needs.
• Conduct calorie counts and make appropriate recommendations.
• Review, revise, and sign off menus for nutritional adequacy.

Qualifications

• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
• State licensure required.
• Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in Food & Nutrition.
• One year of Clinical Dietetics experience preferred.
