Job summary

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a Dietitian to join our interdisciplinary care team, providing medical nutrition therapy and applying the NCPT to assess nutrition status, diagnose malnutrition risk, design care plans, and monitor outcomes for patients and families.

As a full-time role with a day schedule, you’ll collaborate with clinicians to integrate nutrition care with patient-centered goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field from US regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent.
  • Master's degree required for Dietitians entering workforce after 01/01/2024.
  • ACEND‑accredited Dietetics program or Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
  • National CDR Registered Dietitian on hire.
  • Oregon Dietitian License within 6 months of hire.
  • Possible additional state Dietitian License within 6 months.
  • 1 year experience with adult learning theory in nutrition education.
  • 1 year experience with nutrition management of multiple disease states.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients, families and the community.
  • Apply the Nutrition Care Process and NCPT to assess nutrition status and diagnose malnutrition risk.
  • Design and implement nutrition care plans and monitor outcomes.
  • Coordinate with the interdisciplinary health care team for patient-centered goals.

Job description

Dietitian at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. This posting represents Full-Time, Day Schedule.

The Dietitian works closely with the departmental and interdisciplinary health care team to provide care that is integrated and compatible with patient-centered medical goals and objectives. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses (including the assessment for malnutrition), performs nutrition-focused physical examination, interprets results, orders nutrition and diet orders, designs and implements nutrition care plans, and monitors and evaluates outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients who are at nutrition risk or malnourished. Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients, families and the community.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree- Dietetics, foods and nutrition or related area granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent.
  • Master's degree is only required for those entering the workforce after 1/1/2024 as a Dietitian.
  • Coursework/Training- Completion of required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire.
  • Oregon Dietitian License within 6 months of hire.
  • May require additional state Dietitian License within 6 months of hire.
  • 1 year- Experience with current adult learning theory in relation to nutrition education.
  • 1 year- Experience with nutrition management of multiple disease states.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year- Experience with managing nutrition in a clinical setting.
  • 1 year- Experience providing medical nutrition therapy.
