Qualifications

• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
• State licensure required.
• Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in Food & Nutrition.
• One year of clinical dietetics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients per physician orders and diet instruction.
• Coordinate with physicians and other disciplines involved in care.
• Evaluate referral orders for nutrition intake adequacy.
• Document information in the patient's medical record per standards.
• Implement nutrition care plans, adapt menus, assist with special diets.
• Perform calorie counts and provide recommendations.
• Review and sign menus for nutritional adequacy.
