Registered Dietician - Full Time - Days

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and services.
• Work collaboratively with medical staff, patients, residents, families and food service department to ensure patient/resident care plans are implemented.
• Maintain department standards and meet regulatory requirements from local, state, and federal agencies.
• Assess residents and patients for malnutrition and develop nutrition-intervention care plans.
• Serve as a department representative on the hospital clinical team.
• Manage the clinical workload between dietitian and diet tech, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with Nutrition Manager on menu development and implementation.
• Represent the Nutrition department at QAPI, resident council, and Dining Committee meetings.
• Manage department enteral feeding policy and assist in policy development.
• Act as subject‑matter expert using food‑service management software.
• Approve and manage diets in menu software.
• Serve as a consultant to Acute Care and Swing Bed units.
• Provide nutritional education and counseling to residents/patients and families.
• Keep certification/license active with continuing education.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety and sanitation codes.
• Maintain departmental policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory agencies.
• Provide educational training to dietary staff as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics; Master’s preferred.
• 1 year of related experience in acute and geriatric-based healthcare.
• Licensed as a Registered Dietitian.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.

Location and Travel Requirements

• Onsite – Schuyler Hospital, 220 Steuben Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865.
• Day Shift.

Physical Requirements

• Standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• May be exposed to extreme heat or cold, loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, or sharp objects.
• Licensed driving ability may be necessary.

Pay Range Disclosure

• $30.00 – $40.00 per hour.
