Summary of Job Duties: Position is considered Essential Personnel

The Dietetic Technician is responsible for daily routines and functions to ensure all patients receive meals in a timely manner, meeting Physician orders and patient preferences. The Dietetic Technician Level I assists in planning and implementing nutritional programs and services in the hospital.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• High School diploma/GED plus 2 years of experience in customer service.
• Ideal candidate is team-oriented with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work during Inclement Weather.
• Ability to work rotating Weekends and Holidays.

Preferred:

• Experience in food service or patient care setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting patients to ensure they receive meals according to diet orders and food allergens.
• Seeking food orders for patients who cannot call or need language assistance.
• Taking food orders accurately at the bedside using IPads.
• Updating and recording patient information, adjusting menu choices based on allergies and preferences, and alerting supervisors to issues.
• Serving trays timely and accurately, verifying patient identity with two identifiers.
• Troubleshooting service issues impacting patient satisfaction.
• Responding to patient requests and retrieving trays after meals.
• Preparing beverages per policies, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper food storage and labeling.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization, serving courteously, and modeling professional behavior.
• Demonstrating integrity, compassion, respect, and a positive attitude towards all.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

• Physical activities include frequent walking, occasional bending, and lifting 26-50 lbs.
• Work environment is inside a medical setting with loud noise levels and potential hazards.

Salary Information: Commensurate with education and experience.
