Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a nutrition-focused professional to screen inpatients for nutrition risk, verify data, and refer issues to the Registered Dietitian. You will support nutrition care for patients not followed by the RD and assist with diet counseling and meal selections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition (or Dietetic Technician program).
• Completion of Dietetic Technician program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

This position is a member of a multidisciplinary team. Responsible for screening inpatients for nutrition risk factors. Verify and relevant data and refer patients with nutrition problems or evolving nutrition problems to the Registered Dietitian (RD). Monitor and support the nutrition care of patients that are not followed by the RD. Assist and counsel patients and families in diet and diet progression, collect and calculate nutrient intakes, and assists with meal selections when necessary.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition --or--
• Completion of Dietetic Technician program (approved by Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics)

Preferred qualifications

• 6 months of food service or nutrition care experience in a hospital setting
