Job summary

Comprehensive-At-Williamsville-2 in Williamsville, NY is seeking a Foods and Nutrition Services Supervisor to assist in planning, developing, and organizing the department’s activities.

The role involves reporting to the Registered Dietitian or Diet Tech, reviewing complaints, supporting QAPI initiatives, processing diet changes, inspecting storage, delegating duties, and coordinating with other supervisors to ensure daily services run without interruption.

Qualifications

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing the food and nutrition services department.
• Responsibility and accountability of supervising the food and nutrition services department.
• Make written and oral reports to the Registered Dietitian or Diet Tech.
• Review departmental complaints and grievances from personnel and make written reports to the Registered Dietitian and Food Service Director.
• Assist the QAPI Committee in developing and implementing plans of action to correct deficiencies in food and nutrition services.
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.

Responsibilities

• Inspect food storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
• Ensure hazardous materials are properly labeled and stored.
• Delegate administrative authority and duties to other personnel as needed (e.g., head cook, cooks).
• Monitor absenteeism to ensure adequate staffing.
• Assist in establishing a production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
• Maintain productive relationships with other department supervisors to ensure daily services run without interruption.
• Check supply rooms and custodial closets to ensure needed supplies are on hand for cleaning tasks.

Assist the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct food and nutrition services deficiencies

Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.

Inspect food storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control. Be sure hazardous materials are properly labeled and stored.

Delegate administrative authority, responsibility and accountability to other personnel as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties (i.e., head cook, cooks, etc.).
