Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or associate degree in dietetics; experience may substitute for education.
• DTR/NDTR registration preferred; Dietetic Technician, Registered (CDR) favored.
• Dietetic technician experience with multiple patient populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists dietitian in the assessment of nutritional needs by obtaining meal selections.
• Interview patients to identify food preferences and allergies.
• DTRs only: assesses patient calorie counts, percentage of food consumed, meal rounds, diet restriction monitoring.
• Maintains pertinent records.
