Job summary

Allure of Zion in Zion, IL is seeking a Certified Dietary Manager to lead our Dietary Department, collaborating with the Dietitian and Administrator to deliver high-quality nutrition and outstanding dining experiences for residents. This leadership role requires a CDM certification (preferred), Illinois sanitation certification, and at least 3 years of supervisory healthcare experience.

Knowledge of IDPH/CMS regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Certification: Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.
• Sanitation: Valid Illinois Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting (SNF, hospital, or similar).
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of IDPH/CMS regulations for long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Dietary Department.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Partner with Nursing to manage diet changes and care plans.
• Participate in discharge planning to support continuity of care.
• Maintain 'survey-ready' standards at all times.
• Lead infection control, sanitation, and inspection readiness.
• Engage with residents and families to understand preferences.
• Help create a personalized, enjoyable dining experience.
• Assist with hiring, training, and performance management.
• Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture.
• Manage food and supply inventory.
• Support budgeting and cost-control initiatives.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

Department Leadership

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
