Goldwater-Care-Pontiac seeks an experienced Dietary Department Manager to lead daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide high-quality nutrition services for residents.
You will supervise staff, maintain food safety standards, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet resident dietary needs and preferences.
Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, directing, and overseeing the daily operations of the Dietary Department. Ensures meals and nutritional services are provided in accordance with current Federal, State, and local regulations, facility policies, established standards, and resident needs. Provides leadership and education to dietary staff, monitors food quality and sanitation, manages departmental operations and staffing, and works closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and high-quality meals and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the dietary department
Manage food service staff, including scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management
Ensure meals are prepared and served in accordance with planned menus and approved substitutions
Prepare and oversee food production following standardized recipes and therapeutic diet orders
Review resident care plans to ensure dietary needs and preferences are met
Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian to support nutritional assessments and counseling
Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including sanitation and food safety standards
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support overall resident care
Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for residents and staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Dietary Manger (CDM, CFPP)Certification Required.
Illinois Food Service Sanitation Certification
Strong understanding of therapeutic diets and regulatory compliance
Strong Leadership, Organizational, and Communication Skills
Minimum 1 to 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare or long-term care foodservice setting
High School Diploma at minimum required
Pass a criminal background check
