Job summary

Bickford Senior Living is seeking a Breadbasket Manager to oversee the restaurant-style Bread Basket dining, including ordering, meal prep, presentation and service. The role involves coordinating with kitchen and dining staff to ensure high quality service for residents, with occasional travel for training.

Qualifying candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a year of related experience, and certifications in ServSafe, CPR and First Aid.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; one year related experience.
• ServSafe, CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to insurer.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities; strong written and verbal communication; organized and time‑minded; good judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Occasional mandatory travel for training and development.
• Order food following Bickford’s process in a timely, cost‑effective manner.
• Ensure production sheets, recipes, prep/pull sheets, and menus are available.
• Prepare meals following menus, processes, and expectations.
• Serve food timely at correct temperatures and appropriately plated.
• Follow Kitchen Daily Task Guide and track resident diets and allergies.
• Maintain kitchen and dining records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with marketing and life enrichment for tours and events.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Occasional mandatory travel required for training and development purposes.
• Order food, following Bickford’s process, in a timely, cost-effective manner.
• Ensure appropriate information is available to produce meals (i.e., production sheets, recipes, prep/pull sheets, week’s extension menus, week-at-a-glance menus).
• Prepare meals following Bickford’s menus, processes, and expectations.
• Serve food timely, at correct temperatures and appropriately plated.
• Ensure Bickford’s process is followed during meal service.
• Interact with residents in the Dining Room during meals to enhance their dining experience.
• Follow the Kitchen Daily Task Guide.
• Utilize residents’ Meal Order Information form to follow/track all resident physician ordered diets, allergies, and preferences.
• Maintain food service records in accordance with regulatory requirements and Bickford’s policies.
• Store food in accordance with regulatory requirements and Bickford’s policies.
• Ensure completion of the Kitchen Rotational Cleaning Schedule.
• Ensure the kitchen and dining room meet regulatory requirements and Bickford’s expectations for cleanliness.
• Coordinate with marketing and life enrichment leaders to ensure appropriate food/refreshments are provided for tours and events.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; one-year related experience
• Willing to take additional training or education, which specific states may require.
• ServSafe, CPR and First Aid certifications required
• A valid driver’s license and a driving record that is consistent with Bickford’s insurance carrier guidelines
• Ability to handle multiple priorities Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication Competent in organizational and time management skills Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
