Job summary

ALIYA Healthcare Consulting seeks a Dietary Manager to lead the dietary department and collaborate with the Dietitian to plan and direct daily operations in a healthcare setting.

You will oversee menu planning, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and quality assurance to ensure residents receive safe, nutritious meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a hospital or nursing care facility.
• Knowledge of dietary practices, laws, and guidelines governing dietary functions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the Dietary Department in daily operations.
• Develop and maintain written job descriptions and evaluations for dietary personnel.
• Review policies and procedures for revisions and compliance.
• Inspect storage rooms, closets, and supply areas for upkeep.
• Review diet changes and new diets from Nursing Department.
• Prepare reports on complaints and grievances for records.
• Assist during resident discharge planning.
• Participate in facility surveys and maintain resident food preferences records.
• Review therapeutic and regular diet plans and menus for accuracy with physicians’ orders.
• Document dietary progress notes clearly and descriptively.
• Maintain stock levels of staple and non-staple foods, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist Infection Control with aseptic and isolation techniques.
• Ensure dietary areas and storage remain clean and sanitary.

DIETARY MANAGER

As a Dietary Manager, you'll partner with our Dietitian to plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of our Dietary Department, ensuring that quality nutritional services are provided to our residents on a daily basis. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Dietary Department
• Develop and maintain written job descriptions and performance evaluations for dietary personnel
• Review policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions for revisions and make recommendations
• Inspect food storage rooms, utility closets, and other areas for upkeep and supply control
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Department
• Review departmental complaints and grievances from personnel and make written reports
• Assist during resident discharge planning
• Participate in facility surveys and maintain records of resident food likes and dislikes
• Review therapeutic and regular diet plans and menus for compliance with physician's orders
• Ensure charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive
• Maintain stock levels of staple and non-staple food, supplies, and equipment
• Assist the Infection Control Committee in developing aseptic and isolation techniques
• Ensure dietary service work areas, food storage, and food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
