Job summary

ALIYA Healthcare Consulting seeks a Dietary Manager to lead the dietary department, partnering with the Dietitian to organize and direct daily nutrition services for residents.

You will ensure safe food handling, maintain records, and oversee diet plans, menus, and department performance in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Leads and directs Dietary Department operations.
• Ensures compliance with dietary practices and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborates with Dietitian to plan menus and dietary services.
• Maintains quality and sanitary standards across facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and directing the Dietary Department.
• Develop and maintain job descriptions and evaluations for dietary staff.
• Review policies and procedures and recommend revisions.
• Inspect storage, closets, and supply areas for upkeep and control.
• Process diet changes as received from Nursing.
• Document and report department concerns and grievances.
• Assist during discharge planning for residents.
• Record resident food likes/dislikes for surveys.
• Review diet plans and menus for physician orders.
• Document dietary progress notes clearly.
• Maintain stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist Infection Control with aseptic techniques.
• Keep dietary work areas clean and sanitary.

DIETARY MANAGER

As a Dietary Manager, you'll partner with our Dietitian to plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of our Dietary Department, ensuring that quality nutritional services are provided to our residents on a daily basis. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Dietary Department
• Develop and maintain written job descriptions and performance evaluations for dietary personnel
• Review policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions for revisions and make recommendations
• Inspect food storage rooms, utility closets, and other areas for upkeep and supply control
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Department
• Review departmental complaints and grievances from personnel and make written reports
• Assist during resident discharge planning
• Participate in facility surveys and maintain records of resident food likes and dislikes
• Review therapeutic and regular diet plans and menus for compliance with physician's orders
• Ensure charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive
• Maintain stock levels of staple and non-staple food, supplies, and equipment
• Assist the Infection Control Committee in developing aseptic and isolation techniques
• Ensure dietary service work areas, food storage, and food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical facility
• Knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities
