Job summary

Rankenjordan is seeking a Dietary Aide to prepare and serve meals to patients under the direction of the Manager of Dietary. This full-time role offers a weekend option with Saturday and Sunday shifts from 10:30am to 6:30pm, plus three weekday shifts.

You will follow written menus, maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness, review menus and diet slips, make substitutions as needed, and comply with safety and regulatory standards while upholding the organization’s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and perform unit conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares meals per written menus and serves portions to patients on schedule.
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen, dish room, and dining areas per regulations.
  • Reviews menus and diet slips; plans cooking schedule to ensure timely readiness.
  • Makes dietary substitutions as requested by dietary staff.
  • Adheres to patient rights, dietary policies, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Aligns conduct with Rankenjordan values and maintains professional behavior.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Manager of Dietary or designee.

Job description

Under the direction of the Manager of Dietary, prepares and serves meals to patients in compliance with established procedures and guidelines, and maintains cleanliness using standard procedures. This position is full time weekend option. Schedule is Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am-6:30pm. Three weekday shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares food in accordance with written menus and serves appropriate portions to patients at specified times.
  • Maintains cleanliness of preparation, cooking, and storage areas including all equipment in the kitchen, the dish room, and the dining room in accordance with regulations.
  • Reviews menus to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared, reviews diet slips for formula needs. Plans cooking schedule so that foods will be ready at specified times, using correct sanitation and safety practices.
  • Makes dietary substitutions as necessary for patients as requested by Dietary Manager, Dietitian therapists, and medical staff.
  • Adheres to Patient Rights and Responsibilities, the Dietary Policy & Procedure Manual, Approved Diet Manual, the USDA Food Service Procedures & Guidelines, and sanitary regulations.
  • Knows the mission and values of Ranken Jordan and in accordance, maintains appropriate professional behavior at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Manager of Dietary, or his/her designee.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and correctly perform units of measurement conversions.
Physical Demands

These include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, carrying, and lifting of light loads (up to 35 lb.).
