Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly
Job Summary
This position prepares and serves food to the residents in our facility while ensuring good sanitary condition in cooking and dining premises. A Dietary Aide must be capable to prepare food following instructions while adhering to all safety and health standards. They must be competent and conscientious with a customer-oriented approach. The goal is to provide excellent food services by following instructions and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Administrative
- Timely and accurate completion of scheduled cleaning tasks and meal services.
- Adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) privacy policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to residents, families and employees.
- Maintain positive working relationships with residents, residents’ families, River Oaks staff, community providers and referral sources.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
B. Services and Procedures
- Set up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order
- Prepare meals independently by following instructions.
- Deliver dishes and trays at designated times.
- Serve prepared meals to residents at appropriate meal times.
- Take down dining areas and collect plates, glasses etc.
- Discard leftovers and take out garbage.
- Clean food stations and wash dishes, cooking vessels and silverware.
- Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
- Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Assist in cleaning procedures in kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist in meal prep for upcoming meals.
- Communicate to proper individuals when supplies are needed.
- Supports the mission, vision, and core values of the organization.
- Ensure proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food and supplies.
- Food temperatures are maintained at proper levels at preparation and throughout service.
- Understands modified diets and is a team player in working toward resident nutritional well being.
Qualifications / Requirements
A. Education and Experience
- Eighteen (18) years of age
- Previous work experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working with the mentally ill preferred.
- Knowledge ofsanitation and safety guidelines preferred.
- Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions.
- Apt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances
B. Certificates, Licensure and Registration
- United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Position is subject to a Minnesota Department of Human Services background check.
- Must provide proof of two-step Mantoux.
- Certification in food service a plus.
