Responsibilities include adhering to federal, state and local standards, assisting with receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation and cleaning, and guiding other staff under supervision. A detail-oriented, professional, dependable team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Applicants should be able to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete tasks.
• Must follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
• Dependable, with experience in facilities using quantity food production.
• General knowledge of nutrition and ability to apply tray card requirements.
• Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of quantity food production, serving techniques, and food safety/sanitation.
• Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• The Cook prepares and serves food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu.
• Prepares food per current standards and policies to ensure quality service.
• Assists in proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, professional and a team player who works well with others.
• Must assist dietary aides as necessary and directs other employees with approval when the Dining Services Director is absent.
