Apache Junction Health and Rehab is seeking a cook to maintain a safe, sanitary kitchen and prepare meals for residents in a healthcare setting. You will follow menus, prepare special diets, and ensure accurate food temperatures while coordinating with other departments.

The role requires experience in healthcare food service and a commitment to cleanliness, safety, and quality presentation of meals to support resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures for the meals.
• Prepare pureed foods.
• Work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
• Maintain sanitizer buckets with quaternary solution.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Clean cooking area and serving carts.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator and/or Director of Nurses.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Make the presentation of the food appealing to residents.
• Cooperate and work under supervision.
• Ensure all cleaning schedules are followed.
