Job summary

The Lodge at Sandhills Carolina, a brand-new state-of-the-art facility in Pinehurst, NC, is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our healthcare-focused culinary team. You will prepare meals according to menus, dietary orders, and safety standards.

This role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to schedules, and compassionate service to residents and families, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare food service preferred.
• Ability to follow nutritional orders and dietary textures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu and nutritional orders.
• Prepare food in accordance with applicable standards and our policies and procedures under the supervision of the CDM.
• Be detail-oriented, professional, and a team player who works well with others.
• Assist dietary aides and direct other employees with approval in the CDM's absence.
• Follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized kitchen.
• Read and apply requirements of food tray cards.
• Possess knowledge of food production, serving techniques, and sanitation.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and serve food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu and nutritional orders.
• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our policies and procedures, and, as directed by the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to ensure that quality food service is provided.
• Be detail-oriented, professional, and a team player who works well with others.
• Assist dietary aides and direct other employees with approval and in the absence of the CDM.
• Be able to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized kitchen.
• Have a general knowledge and understanding of nutrition.
• Be able to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.
• Have knowledge of food production and serving techniques, and food safety/sanitation requirements.
• Interact positively with residents, families, vendors, staff, and other personnel.
• Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
