Job summary

Leisure Vale Assisted Living in Glendale, CA is seeking a Cook to prepare meals from planned menus, review menus, and assist in serving residents. The role requires attention to dietary needs and quality food presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and ensure appetizing presentation.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods for residents who refuse items.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets as directed.
• Follow standardized recipes and diet orders.

Now Hiring: Cook

Responsibilities of Cook:

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, including items that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods, when authorized, to residents who refuse foods served or request appropriate alternatives.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.

Qualifications of Cook:

• High school diploma preferred.
• Must have 1+ years of experience as a Cook.
• Cook/Dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care home or other related medical facility is preferred but not required.
• Experience in cooking a variety of food in large quantities.
• Food handler's card.
• Experience with food preparation and nutrition.
